Bile acids are important signaling molecules involved in the regulation of lipid and glucose metabolism, maintenance of metabolic and energy homeostasis. Mice, rats, guinea pigs and rabbits are used as model organisms in pharmacodynamic studies.

There is a need for biomedical research on mice with genetic impairments, which is fast growing around the world. An essential part of science includes effective cooperation between research groups as within the same country and at the international level.
